The ‘Big Apple’ is experiencing a bit of automotive problems… Is the Nissan brand heading into the same direction as the Ford Kuga, Ford EcoSport and Mercedes-Benz model variants?

Nissan, New York, has recalled more than 54,000 cars due to a surprise outburst. When slamming the doors of the 2012 Nissan Versa, passengers may experience a startle due to an unforeseen deployment of the Nissan car’s curtain and seat-mounted airbags.

Nissan reveals that the car problem may be caused as a result of the side impact sensor connector pins, entering a period of degradation.

Although the ‘airbag deployment’ may be less of an issue than a car engine bursting into flames, the unexpected airbag deployment can increase the risk of injury.

Taking Nissan customer safety and the brand’s promises into account, Nissan is taking action by getting dealers to replace the side impact sensor and install a new jumper harness – no costs involved.
