Nelson Mandela Day is an international day of remembrance of Tata Madiba, for the lifetime service of peace and humanity in South Africa and the rest of the world.
Mandela day was launched on his 90th birthday celebration on the 18th of July 2009. To celebrate this day, one gives up 67 minutes of your time to do good and give back to others. By devoting 67 minutes of your time – one minute for every year of Mandela’s public service – you can make a small gesture of solidarity with humanity and a step towards a global movement for good.

Ladies of Love run a campaign where you can spend your 67 minutes handing out warm soup to the homeless at Mandela Rhodes Place. If you would like to have an input, but won’t be available, you can donate money or winter clothing items to help the homeless to be well-fed and warm. This making a difference campaign will be held on the 18th of July at 12 pm. Donations are welcome anytime.
